Semenyo has been a standout performer for the Cherries.

The Ghanaian has caught the attention of clubs thanks to his impressive form this season and during the last campaign.

The 24-year-old has showcased his explosive play on the right wing for Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth side, recently scoring a stunning goal in their 3-1 victory over Southampton in the South-Coast derby.

His dynamic presence has caught the eye of Newcastle United, with TEAMTALK reporting that the Magpies are keen on him, and Bournemouth might struggle to keep hold of him in the future.

Arsenal are also interested, with Mikel Arteta reportedly admiring both Semenyo and his teammate Milos Kerkez, valuing the pair at around £80 million combined.

Bristol City fans are likely unsurprised by the growing interest in Semenyo from Premier League giants like Newcastle and Arsenal.

FLW’s Bristol City fan pundit, Tom Sandy, isn’t surprised by the interest in Semenyo, noting: “I’m not surprised. He’s really stepped up over the past season and become one of Bournemouth’s key players.”

“He was quite raw when he joined us, having played a lot of football before entering our academy at a later stage. While I can’t recall which youth academy we scouted him from, he had the physical attributes to become a great player, and we saw his potential immediately.

“His loan at Newport County was a success, and the fans there loved him, just as Ashton Gate fans did. His passion, the way he’d pick up the ball and drive forward, progressing the team, was incredible to watch.

“Even if the team wasn’t playing well, Semenyo’s energy could lift everyone. He’s never been a selfish player.

“He reminds me a bit of Sinclair Armstrong, though Semenyo played wider. The only thing that held him back was his finishing. He often opted for power over accuracy, and while he still does that at Bournemouth, his finishing has improved significantly.”

“It’s a joy to watch him; he’s a unique prospect and a fantastic player. He poses such a challenge for opposing teams because he’s always looking to attack, and that’s an element both Bournemouth and we have excelled at maintaining in their game.

“It’s great to see him getting attention from Newcastle. Whether it would be the right move for him is debatable, but Newcastle has the resources to lure him away from Bournemouth. Regardless, I’d be thrilled for him either way.”

Whether Semenyo decides to move or stay, either option seems beneficial for him. His development under Iraola has been outstanding, and he has consistently performed well. There’s no reason he couldn’t maintain this form if he joined Newcastle or another top-half Premier League club, which would certainly represent a step up.

While he showed he needed some improvement from his Bristol City days to warrant a Premier League transfer, his explosive style and dangerous pace have proven he possesses the quality required for the top tier.

Though he’s still a few years away from his peak, this might entice him to remain with Bournemouth. However, if Newcastle offers a competitive salary like they have with past signings, it could make a move an obvious choice for the Ghanaian.

As a promising talent who is now stepping into a more serious role in the Premier League, a transfer to Newcastle could unlock the final spark he needs to reach his full potential.
